Phyto-medicines
have always been a major component of traditional system of
healing in developing countries, which have also been an integral
part of their history and culture. The conference will provide
educational opportunities for pharmacists, pharmacognosists,
botanists, ethnobotanists, ethnopharmacologists and others
involved in research, evaluation, development and marketing
of botanicals for use in health care. Safety and efficacy
of the herbal medicines are always a cause of concern to promote
and rationalize their use. Quality control of botanicals,
validated processes of manufacturing, customer awareness and
post marketing surveillance are the key points which could
ensure the safety and efficacy of herbal medicines.
This conference
will emphasize drug development from natural resources with
a special focus on botanical products used in Indian systems
of medicine. This conference will further highlight the needs
and requirements for research and development of natural products
in general and Phytomedicines in particular through international
